Chronic diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, cancer, and neurodevelopmental disorders are major contributors to morbidity and mortality worldwide. While individual lifestyle factors like diet and physical activity play important roles, they do not fully explain the growing burden of disease. Increasing evidence points to environmental exposures—including air pollution, PFAS, plastics, and other chemicals—as important and underrecognized contributors to health outcomes across the life course. These exposures often interact with social and lifestyle factors to shape risk and resilience.

The ECLIPSE Lab seeks to advance understanding of the biological and social mechanisms through which environmental exposures influence human health. By integrating environmental, molecular, and behavioral data, our work aims to generate evidence that can guide public health strategies and policies to reduce harmful exposures and promote healthier environments for all.
